More and more companies and people are working “mobile”. In the coming years, mobility will be baseline. Employees doing their work while traveling and on the road. 2. Free Agents
More and more people will be working as free agents, instead of “on the payroll”. With a project focus and multi disciplinary teams. IT and mobile solutions will add to this and make people and companies more independent. For all sorts of projects, free agents - external consultants will be in increasing demand.
3. Less Powerpoint > more video
Static information will be replaced by dynamic and video presentations. No more slideshows with pictures of homes for sale or offices for rent. Virtual tours, 360 degrees views and Prezi style presentations will need to do the job.
4. Unavailability becomes a right
Technology has taken away the gap between work and free time. More and more, employers expect their employees to be available always. Online, per mobile phone... This demand is becoming too much for some and people demand the right to turn their phone off. And employers realise this. Being unavailable becomes a right...
5. Less hierarchy, more cooperation
More and more bigger organisations work less in a hierarchal manner, less top-down. Managers adapt and become coach and inspirations more than bosses. The focus is on cooperation, and companies tend to work more together on projects. Particularly start up companies tend to find creative workspaces they can share with complementary companies. Also, age and the number of years experience in a role become less and less relevant.
6. Workspaces change and become more flexible
Design and user friendliness were never top priority for recruitment departments. This is chancing rapidly. The quality of the work space and the tools, the “vibe”, the quality of work/life is becoming more important.
